Of the guns mentioned, I have personal experience only w/ the Mossberg youth model. I bought one in 20 gauge when my oldest child started showing an interest in going to the squirrel woods w/ me. My youngest son ended up using it the most. The newer youth model Mossberg's I've seen are an improvement over mine in that the stock's length of pull can be added to as the child grows. Don't worry about your son "outgrowing" it. If he likes it, he'll continue to use it, even as he gets older/bigger. To this day, the little youth model is a favorite of my son for squirrel hunting. If you can't find the one w/ the adjustable butt stock, just get a regular one and throw on a $20 slip on recoil pad as your son grows.

The adjustable length of stroke and stock are really the reasons the mossberg was on my list. His first gun was a Rossi and shaving the stock down was a fiasco.
