I dont suspect that's the problem because I can buzz it without trying to plane off if I want. I can do it on command about 5 different ways but the only way I can avoid it is to floor it and hope it gets up. If it doesnt, I have to lay it down and mash back on it when the wake hits the back of the boat to get a little push.
You're right. Boat is loaded with the newest electronics, almost totally rewired, with every other issue addressed and ready to go kick arse. I just got this stupid buzzer problem to deal with

I cant even do that. The bastard goes into guardian and falls on its face. Believe me I fell out with the reds and tried to blow through the buzzer when it did it to me in Toledo bend on the maiden trip

Now if mercury could get away from their damn proprietary smartcraft shite and put a nmea plug on their powerhead we'd be getting somewhere. I'm familiar with nmea, J1939, and modbus. I hate smartcraft.
SmartCraft is the engine and vessel information data system. It has nothing to do with limiting power to the engine. Quote from Mercury: SmartCraft® Integrated Marine Technology from Mercury links power, controls and internal and external sensors to provide precise data. SmartCraft data can be broadcast over NMEA2000 with several different devices: NMEA Gateway, VesselView Link, certain VesselView models, and certain MercMonitors. It’s the same with their engines, many different choices for many applications.
You hate Engine Guardian. It’s what limits power and protects the engine from potential damage or failure.
Without knowing what your fault is, you could be dealing with something as simple as a faulty shift position switch. If the PCM sees the engine in neutral, it will limit power to 2500 RPM.

Oh no I dont hate guardian mode. I love it. I love fuel injection and engine protection and diagnostics. I'm very familiar with smartcraft and marine engine electronics/communications in general. In a past life I did lots of J1939 and modbus vessel integration on some big shite
What I hate about smartcraft is that its proprietary. If you have a mercury you either buy all mercury shite or have 2 communication networks on board and some expensive equipment to interface them. Proprietary networks in general give me the redass. If it had nmea like every other outboard, I wouldn't be waiting on a $150 bluetooth module to hook to my phone when it could be on the simrad.
You haven't been pissed until you had a Cummins engine outputting J1939 into a sim module that outputs smartcraft onto a boat that is all modbus. They were far ahead of the curve with smartcraft when it came out. They are now extremely far behind the curve and need to abandon their precious golden child. Smartcraft could potentially keep me from buying another mercury.
