This is usually our best week of the season. Bucks are chasing does by this time. But I can't even see a doe. Deer I have been seeing are scrub bucks. Gotta have 3 on one side to be legal. Weather forecast sucks for the next few days.

Man this hot weather is killing us. I got to my stand Saturday afternoon around 3 and there were 3 does and a big bodied 6 point at the end of one of my lanes. 6 was totally ignoring the does and munching on clover. Sadly, no rut here yet. Think I'm going to get down and come back around 2

The reason I didn't shoot is because the minute I slipped my gun off my shoulder they spooked and ran into the big woods. I assure you I'm not a "let him walk" kind of guy

Slow morning in Texas. Only saw one doe. Back in for the pm hunt. It's hot and windy as hell. Still looking for big boy but he will probably make me wait til tomorrow.
