I see that one gnawing on the shoulder. My dog is the arse bandit. She eats the tails off of them. Literally crunches it and spits out white hair.

Thanks everyone. Extremely blessed with how this season turned out. I could never have expected to get 3 public archery bucks in a season.
Trigger bayed him up 740 yards from where I shot him. If I would have backed out from the start, he wouldn’t have went that far. The buck actually ended up right next to the main trail entering that area. Made for a short drag versus what could have been!

I had a similar hit on a buck with a bow. Shot him at first light and jumped him at last light. Found him the next morning after tracking on hands and knees for a couple of hundred yards. Seems that a hit far back in the guts takes a bit longer for them to die.

Agreed.....animals shut it down lately. Does it every year at some point, normally later in January.
