Thanks and I just got an email from someone close to the situation and "they are very pleased with the way Top Kill is going and it's better than they expected."

another dumb question. If it's effective, will the amount of oil/mud coming from the riser decrease slowly or will it stop altogether once it gets to that point of working? I know it won't be any time soon, but just when it does..

If minimal mud getting discharged from riser that is incredible news! As long as mud is still getting pumped at the design rate
