Was anyone able to get tickets?
Posted on 6/23/10 at 10:22 am to TJG210
Me and my friend have our 8. I think tickets sold out in 9 minutes.

I was in 5 after and they were sold out.......

It sounds like everyone that was online trying to get tickets was essentially screwed. We just went to the Civic Center Box Office in Houma at 9:55. There were 4 other people waiting in line. At 10, they just passed out 4 tickets apiece. Not even a Ticketmaster service fee. Totally free. It took less than 5 seconds for us to get 8 tickets.
I'm sure there were people all over the country doing the same thing at local box offices getting tickets. They hit Ebay at 10:30 and are going for almost $200 each right now.
Bammers are furious right now and the Governor's office is even launching an inquiry. But all it took was 8,750 people in lines and online for 35,000 tickets to be gone that quick.
Plus it sounds like the Convention Bureau had distributed tickets to local condos/hotels because we received an email yesterday from a condo we stayed at once offering a "Buffet Package" with a room and tickets to the show.
So I doubt that 35,000 were available through Ticketmaster. No telling how many went to local businesses plus the politicians......

quote:They were listed on Ebay yesterday afternoon, or even the day before. Ticketmaster employees have access to tickets before the general onsale date, and scalpers can pay off said employees to get the primo tix well before anyoen else has a chance to get them.

Didn't know that. I just saw the listings posted after I got back to the office. But that doesn't surprise me. Only thing that surprised me about any of this is Ticketmaster didn't even charge a service fee.
