They won't even meet for the first time until mid-July!! And the head of the commission doesn't plan to have a report ready to release until next year!

Glad to see DC is taking our delegation seriously...

Here's a link to original article in the NY Times:

quote:

Mr. Obama set a six-month deadline for the panel to produce its report, but the clock does not begin until the seven-member body officially meets. The group’s start has been set back by delays in naming the other five members and by a complicated White House vetting process for staff members.

quote:

it was unlikely that the panel would recommend the lifting of the six-month moratorium on deep-water drilling before it completed its report.

quote:

will hold its first formal meeting in mid-July at the earliest, most likely delaying the delivery of its final report into next year, a co-chairman of the panel said Friday in an interview.

So this means the moratorium hasn't even started yet!

This is f'ing ridiculous.............Goodbye Gulf Coast, Hello Michigan south......

Don't worry obama and friends will make sure we are all fairly compensated.

We need to scream, yell, and make damn well sure the folks around the country know what a destructive piece of crap this guy is.

I hope like hell gas prices go sky high and the rest of the country feels our pain.

This moratorium is making our office very nervous. Probably 70% of our business has been in offshore supply vessel design over the last 5yrs.

Selfish! You should not be concerned about your own well-being or that of your family, your company, your region!!!! You should only be concerned about the fish, and birds, and marshes, and the fact that this moratorium is slowing the flow of oil from the well...

This is a fricking joke. Let's place a ban on something that so many people call their livelihood, and let's name a bunch of people who are already on record as against oil and gas and against drilling to that board and not put one single expert in oil and gas on the board. While we're at it, let's not even start the ban on drilling until these fricks get together sometime next month.

Do they not fricking realize that oil companies are already using force majeure in order to cancel contracts and ship their rigs overseas? And the fricking moratorium hasn't even started!

Son of a bitch. I wonder what all those great oil and gas towns are going to look like 4 months into the moratorium?

My heart goes out to everyone in the business that's getting fricked. I'll see you fine people in Africa and brazil.

Its called a pre-determined outcome. Its kind of like playing Alabama in football and all the refs are from Tuscaloosa.
