Some of the information in the article is incorrect, but I might just be nitpicking it.
I've talked to 30 different facilities in the GOM, and nobody has said anything about SWAT or any military going to their location.
As for as conspiracy theories go, this is a pretty good one.

Um, no. South Korea has never had any battleships. They are probably referring to the recent sinking of what they refer to as a destroyer. It is really more like a small corvette. To call it a battleship just means the writer has no idea what he's talking about.

Soo uhhhh....why not blow up Thunder Horse. You know, one of the biggest rigs in existence, that's actually producing oil, would be a much better target, and still has South Korea ties (was built by DSME.)
