Everything going on right now is just smoke and mirrors. The only intention BP has is to get the relief wells drilled. Once they are drilled BP can bring the field into production. If they cap the well the Obama administration is going to shut them down indefinitely. When the relief wells are drilled, they may get shut down temporarily as well, but with all the money BP is spending their primary objective is to get the well ready for production.

The current maneuver they are trying is simply another method of siphoning some of the oil again. The spill will end when BP is ready to produce.

With the way president retard is talking, production of any kind may not be happening for awhile.

You do know that they can cap it and still produce it right? Why would the gov shut them down if they cap it?

Link?

There was a Bama fan on here earlier this week suggesting sort of the same theory and that his uncle in Houston was "in the know"...maybe you guys are cousins or someting...

Either way, I think this theory is B.S and you should apply Tin foil on your head.

the oil isn't going to vanish if this thing is capped. Its absurd to think they want oil free flowing into the ocean.

No tin foil necessary, no relatives in Houston and definitely not a Bama fan.

See you in July/August when the relief well is finished.

And yes I know they could cap and then produce later, however the topworks at the current wellhead are fuc*ed up.

All of the cleanup and damage they are doing with dispersants has do be done either way. The work they are doing on the well currently is not that much more costly than what it cost per day to operate the Horizon. As long as they are spending the money they are going to get the site ready for production (the current blow out is not ready for production and if they could get it ready for production they would have).

Yea they are most likely going to produce this reservoir, so whats your point? If you think that is keeping them from capping the well you are way off. And they wont be producing it through the relief wells. They will come back later and just do a horizontal drill. If you dont know what you are talking about dont act like you do, you wont look so dumb.

WTF are you talking about. I bet it's costing them 4 times what it cost for the Horizon! Three drilling rigs @ 500,000+ a day plus all the support vessels and ROVs.

You do realize that the well will be cemented up and soon as it's killed. I will bet a $1000 that not a drop of oil or gas is produce from any of the these wells.
