BP gas locations changing to Pure Oli

Here in Pensacola Fl., the BP gas locations are covering up the BP signs, taking them down and changeing the signs to Pure Oil.
What does this tell you ?

That people are idiots and they don't realize BP stations don't necessarily sell oil that was processed from BP production.

And the stations also may not be owned by BP, so the people that own them want to disassociate themselves so it won't hurt their bottom line as much.
