Sutton became suspicious when his surveillance camera captured a U.S. Postal Service truck come and go Monday afternoon -- but his mail never arrived.

Since it was after business hours when he found the mail, Sutton called 911. On Tuesday morning, investigators with the Dallas Marshals's office and postal police retrieved two large bags full of undelivered mail.

That is why I get all important mail, i.e., statements and bills, sent via email.

Sutton called 911

Seems reasonable. Definitely don't want to wait until the morning to call the post office as all of the coupon books and AOL CD's could be damaged by then.

Let me give you a recent experience with our great post office people.

I ordered 3 cases of dog food, and for some reason it was sent through the post office instead of UPS or FedEx. That's fine though... the mail person will just drop it off at my door like they usually would with a package right?

WRONG! See, everyone on our street has mailboxes at the end of our street, like this:

See those bigger square boxes on the left and right side? Those are for packages. Guess what the mail lady did? She squeezed my box of dog food into that box. The box had to be smashed a little bit just to fit.

I can't even fit my fingers into the box to pull it out. And also, there is a lip around the rim of the box that prevents you from sliding it right out even if I could get a grip on it. It was ridiculous that this mail lady did this just so her lazy arse wouldn't have to stop for a second and drop it off on my porch.

So I call the post office and tell them that this package is stuck. The mail lady said she can get it out but I was going to have to go to the post office to pick it up. I'm like WHAT?? This mail lady would literally pass my house to get to and from the mailbox. I literally live 4 houses from the mailbox. It would take 2 seconds to just drop it off at my door like she should have done in the first place. It's not my fault she's an idiot and shoved a package in that box and got it stuck.

Nope, she refused. They eventually sent SOMEONE ELSE to come get the package out.

The whole thing was a fiasco and they were refusing to even act like they screwed up at all and didn't want to remedy the situation.

Fast forward a month, and I had a cell phone coming to me through the post office. On the day it was to arrive, I was waiting around for the mail lady because the package required a signature. I saw the mail lady come by and put all the mail in the mailbox and then drive away. I was like well that's odd.. my phone was supposed to come today. I checked the tracking information and it said something like "package not delivered, nobody there to sign for package. Note left".

I'm like WTF! I was right there the whole time! She didn't even stop at my house to try to deliver the package. She didn't leave any note. She literally had to scan the package and then purposely not deliver it.

I was pissed. I called the post office and they said I would have to go down there and pick it up. I was about to go postal.

These mail people are lazy and don't give a shite.

I get your point, but the mail is still under the purvey of the federal government until its delivered. I can't fault the guy for calling the cops. I'd imagine 911 didn't send units running code to get there.
