For people in New Orleans post Katrina

The debate was: was it just drug induced murder; or was there something more to it? The fact it happened above the voodoo temple; and the fact he just went on about his life for a week and people said he seemed normal (which for him was probably sketchy); or the fact of all the spray painted confessions on the walls; or the VERY bizarre confession/suicide note in his pocket. Just a weird situation that does not sit right with a few folks I know.

There is a good podcast on Southern Fried True Crime that goes into both of their backgrounds pretty deep.
Both were broken people that never really stood a chance.

I used to think that too but I was reading a biography about Mother Teresa - and she said she would not put a shelter/home in New Orleans bc it was too evil - so she went to Baton Rouge and Lafayette

Incredibly sad that none of Addie’s family claimed her body for more than six months after the murder. She was eventually buried with a simple headstone in rural North Carolina.
“Shake the Devil off” is a good book that delves into the case pretty deeply. Solid read.

I always assumed Chris Kyle shot them from the top of the superdome.

Drugs, mental illness, extreme stress.

No; not directly because of it. But I am sure it exacerbated things, both good and bad. So did it happen because of Katrina; no, but it didn’t help.

Sometimes it seems as if this sort of evil takes over easy prey in New Orleans - how many time have we read the story of some person being killed by some nut bc they ‘found themselves’ in New Orleans?

You make a very valid point.
