Seeing a lot of NWA/WCW matches in here. If those are included scratch our ant three on my list and replace them with the Flair Steamboat Trilogy from 1989.
I was at the one in New Orleans on the third row. It was an incredible match, but hardly anyone was there to watch it.

In a vastly lower stake match that reminds me of Too Cool (Brian Christopher & Scotty 2 Hotty) vs the Hardy Boys in the dark match before a PPV in Memphis.
This was when Too Cool were playing gay characters before they switched to whacky hip hop guys and they started the match as the villainous gays vs the fan favorite Hardy Boys.
And the fans shite all over the match from the opening bell. Brian was Jerry Lawler's son and had spent years in Memphis as a very popular wrestler. The fans booed the Hardy Boys like they were mass murderers.
So Matt Hardy grabs a headlock on Brian and they spend like thirty seconds in a corner with it. They come out from that spot and its Too Cool as the underdog baby faces and the Hardy Boys as the evil dickweeds and the fans went insane.
The only pop that was bigger then Too Cool winning was Steve Austin's intro.
Sometimes in pro wrestling you need to throw the script aside and give the fans what they want.

I wish I could have been at that one. It's weird that WCW booked the Superdome for a Clash of the Champions event, the entire arena looks blacked out. I bet they only had 5,000 people in attendance

It's easy to figure out. The NWA put a supercard on free TV opposite WMV to try and take eyes and dollars away from Vince.
And they pulled out all the stops. They even brought in Junkyard Dog and Butch Reed to try and generate a big gate. In 1984 that match would draw 15,000 to the dome. In 1989 it had no pull.
If I had to guess there were less than 10,000 there.

Sting - Flair in the first Clash of the Champions blew me away as a kid.
