Comments were based on observation.
That said, this is an interesting table. Hell of a drop off between 39 and 40.

That's no fun. You don't want some time to just enjoy being married first?
Yall are young, take some time to get used to married life.

Better listen to some of Tom Leykus.

Good advice for reason stated. Also, good advice to get a feel for whether or not you made a mistake.
Just beware of those who are only interested in the "mrs" degree. A lot of pain can come from that.

To be fair...I was 34 when I got married so my situation is much different than most. But even then...I still realized it would be wise to take a couple years to just enjoy being married first. Marriage is hard and once you have children...you never get that chance again to just focus on the two of you...until they are moving out going to college.

....and the problem there is that a lot of stuff changes over the years. You need to stay close throughout the entirety instead of hoping that you can put things back together after the nest has emptied. A lot of marriages do not survive that land mine. Trust me, I've been there.
More and more marriages are ending as the kids go out on their own. Wouldn't wish it on anyone, but all sorts of shite can go nuts - middle age panic being one element, but not the most prominent.

People stop acting as married couples and just focus on being parents. Thinking that always putting their children first is the best action. Then when the child leaves, they have forgotten how to function as just a married couple. They have grown apart over the years by always putting the child first instead of their marriage.

Good post.
My wife and I were married for 2 years before we decided to have our first. It's definitely a whole different experience.

So you have to have children to read about why marriages fail? To witness coworkers' marriages fall apart for the reasons I listed? To witness friend's marriage fall apart?
I'm certainly no expert on marriage. Only been married 2 years. But I'm very observant and willing to not make the same mistakes others have.

You'll be a great mom.

So I would have been better off getting knocked up while young and single? The good old Southern way? Or married young just to do it and now be on my second marriage hoping for some guy to accept my children as well? Just playing the hand life gave me...the best way I can
Good luck with your marriage. The advice I gave you was just advice given to me by several married (and divorced) couples I knew before I got married.

I am not going to be hard on Nurse. She is indeed very observant and in most cases accurately so. Sometimes it is just one parent that puts the kids ahead of the marriage and that's all it takes to start the demise. That comes from someone who was married 27 years and had two kids with the wife (errr ....."ex" wife).

From what I read of your postings on the OT, I think you are doing just fine. Just keep it up.
For what it's worth, I would not advocate marrying super young and start squirting out rugrats either. It is a major disservice to both the marriage and the kids.
I was in my 30's when our first one came along, and the wife was bumping 30. We were both out of school and I was in my professional career. I am sure we could have done it earlier, but glad we didn't.
