I would never accept a salary and haven’t since 2001. A salary is another word for a cap . Clock monkeys downvote now.

Depends on the job
If I’m doing what I do now- Construction Superintendent $80,000. I’m currently at $127,000
But a fishing guide at Disney world I’d take $30,000

Depends on where you live. You can buy a house with land in South Georgia for under $50k. We sold my grandmother’s very nice house on 5 acres for $100k and was happy to get it.
Where I live currently, you can’t find anything for under $500k with 1 acre lot. Townhomes are going for $750k-1mil.
$40k salary in South Georgia would be livable. Here, you would need to be someone’s wife.
