I've had enough bad weeks at work lately to think that retiring to a 3br 2ba, 1500 sqft ranch on a .5 acre lot in a stupid suburban neighborhood, while driving a Honda Civic for the rest of my life wouldn't be so bad.
What am I actually pursuing by staying in this rat race?

Same here. I’m technically retired but boss keeps finding me stuff to do. I’m going to wrap up this Entergy today and I have one more building and I’m done.

I love my life.
I have stress, bills, some debt.
But I’ve also got a wife who I enjoy spending time with, kids that are great 65% of the time, and friends that are incredible.
Would it be better if I were a multimillionaire?
Probably.
But this shite is okay by me.
