'You are my hero:' Life of fallen Westwego officer celebrated at funeral service

This is so terribly sad.
Thank you for your brave service!
RIP
quote:
Westwego officer Michael Louviere, 26, was celebrated during his funeral service Friday (Jan. 27) as a man of deeply religious convictions who wanted nothing more in life than to be a loving father, husband and son, and to serve his community and those in need. It's how he lived and how he died, friends and family members said at the White Dove Fellowship Church in Harvey. On his last day serving as a police officer, before he had his fateful encounter with Sylvester Holt on the morning of Jan. 20, he saved a woman's life. "He was so excited and called me with such joy in his voice," his wife Ashley Louviere said at the service. "He said, 'Babe, I saved this lady's life. I gave her CPR and got her heartbeat back.' He said it was awesome. Little did I know that would be one of the last phone calls from my husband."

I saw some clips from the service on the news tonight. He's got a strong family. He father not only said he forgave Holt for killing his son, but asked for prayers for his family "because they are going through the same thing we are."

You trying to make up for all your police bashing threads?

MUCH stronger man than me. I'd be foaming at the mouth to get my hands on the dude. I can't imagine being a father and putting my kid to rest because some monster killed him in cold blood and having the heart and willpower to forgive. God bless that man.

Please reserve that crap for other threads that do not deal with the murder of an officer

Semper Fi, Marine.
I wish I could end every useless fricking thug in this nation. Useless drains on our nation.

I don't know how familiar you are with what happened, but it was VERY fricked up.
When Holt's estranged wife was leaving home to go to work, Holt shot and wounded her. She drove off and he pursued. He rammed her car into the vehicle in front of her at a stop sign or stop light, then got out and shot her again. Louviere (the cop) was coming off the night shift and heading home. He sees the aftermath and thinks it's just a bad traffic accident. He initially spoke to Holt and then went towards the wife on the ground. Holt then shoots him in the back of the head.
The guy is 26 years old and has two little kids, like 1 and 3. Served in Afghanistan with the Marines. Comes home, graduates 1st in police academy class and gets murdered by a psycho while trying to help someone. How fricked up is that?

I thought the guy jumped off the bridge. Guess not.

No. He sat in the structural steer for about 8 hours, fricked up traffic on both sides of the river, and then shot himself in the chest. Stupid bastard didn't die until later that night in the hospital.
