Yes this is basically what I was getting at. Do I contact the person on the shipping label, walmart, or fedex. Obviously the owner should be complaining to walmart pretty soon that they didn't receive the times, so I am certain walmart will fix this. What if I contacted the seller directly and they already have a backup on the way? I think I will just call walmart directly and see what they say.

This is a litle different, but I have a pal who ordered a TV from them online last year. Got it, everything was fine. Next day, he receives another one, basically duplicate order that he didn't request or pay for.

similar thing happened to me a couple years ago

I ordered a new ipad from apple, they put two in the box. I contacted them and they said just keep it.

It's a damn shame they don't teach ethics in school anymore.

You mean semantics? I had no idea that was ever a formal course.

I've lost my wallet in a parking lot at a grocery store, It was found and returned to me by an African American man who went out of his way and returned it to me.

Years later I lost my debit card in a mall. It was returned to my bank and returned to me.

I'll never steal or keep anyone else's property. $400 isn't a lot but it mean mean Christmas to whoever else it was being sent to.

If you keep it, hope it burns your house down.

I would do nothing more than contact Walmart to see if they want it back. That's the only moral obligation you have. That's what the other customer will probably do, if he hasn't already. Walmart may have already shipped a replacement to the other customer.

I had a flat screen(50in) TV delivered to me twice. The first time I told them that the lady no longer lives here and the ups driver said well just keep it because the lady can say she never got it and they will send another one out to her correct address. Well about 2 weeks later I get another knock on the door and another flat screen is awaiting me. Different ups driver though. Needless to say I have been enjoying both of them for the last 4 yrs.

Well that's not exactly what's happening here. The item will be replaced by Walmart. The item does not cost Walmart $400. It probably costs Walmart $100. So in this situation you need to determine who is more negatively impacted. The OP with having to deal with the hassle of returning the item or Walmart losing out on $100 on their bottom line.

Depends on what it is...in general, retail price is just double wholesale, but if it's an Xbox or PS4 or another popular branded electronic, walmart's margin is much, much lower. All OP needs to do is tell Walmart. If Walmart decides he can keep the item, it's legitimately and legally his with a clear conscience.
