Okay what the frick is the point of this feud if not to put over Rusev?
I’m not opposed to the whole feud itself, but it’s clear it was meant to put Rusev over and they have shat on that the last two weeks.

yeah... I feel this is going to keep going negatively for Rusev (except for some minor 'wins' to keep everyone wanting him to finally achieve ultimate victory)

Yep. It’s one of those WWE laws of physics like how single finishing move from a legend on a random episode of Raw or Smackdown can obliterate an unstoppable heel or slight interference from an outside party is enough to pin a face with a three count when multiple finishers and chair shots couldn’t stop him. One win at Wrestlemania totally negates the 6 months in a row that you lost to the same opponent leading up to WM and you are automatically declared winner of the feud.
ETA. Oh and if said opponent was a title holder, you have to cut a promo the next night about how he automatically gets buried and goes to the back of the line, the numerous rematches you got against him for the title are no longer taken into consideration and everyone is good with it.
