Bad news for NXT as one of the contenders for the NXT North American Championship is out. Dexter Lumis... who won a triple threat match last Wednesday to qualify for the NA Title Ladder Match at TakeOver XXX... had apparently missed his landing on the flip over the top rope and land on the ground between Balor & Thatcher spot and thus injured his ankle in the process. Further evaluation has been done and Lumis has now been ruled out of the ladder match, so someone will have to take that spot.

WWE is adding 2 more writers to NXT in the hopes of closing the gap in the Wednesday night ratings battle that has seen AEW open up a 150,000 viewer lead over the last 3 weeks... a surge that started after NXT won 3 straight weeks from the last week of June into July

Dave Meltzer dug deep into the ratings numbers and has come up with this doozie. AEW is beating WWE.

That statement is all about the demos, particularly the 18-34, and last week AEW's numbers in that demo were better than both Raw and Smackdown. Further, AEW is basically on par with Raw & Smackdown in the 35-49 demo. Over 50 and teens still trends pretty well to WWE and why Raw & Smackdown holds a roughly 60,000 viewer lead every week... but the key demo for advertisers, the 18-49, AEW is right at or beating WWE programming.

Now the bad news for AEW... the TNT executive who basically green lit the AEW project was let go by the Warner Media in a massive company shake-up. Good thing for AEW, they signed that renegotiated 4-year deal with TNT just before the pandemic closures began, but with their best friend in TNT now out... will someone still go to bat for AEW in Warner Media?

Will Chris Jericho have to pay Orange Cassidy $7,000? Maybe, thanks to WCW Hog/Road Wild... I mean the Sturgis motorcycle rally.

The rally went on as planned this past weekend, and one of the feature bands to play it was Chris Jericho's band, Fozzy. With pictures of unmasked fans in close proximity of the stage as Fozzy played, there are wrestling fans calling for AEW to force Jericho to quarantine until it's confirmed he didn't catch the COVID while playing the show, which would all but make him miss this week's live AEW Dynamite, where the Jericho vs. Cassidy rematch is a featured bout.

Has Bianca Belair been arrested yet? I mean... she blatantly committed home invasion and assault & battery... all caught on live video.

Zelina Vega was hosting her usual Twitch stream when Belair broke into her home and started beating her up. Of course, that's playing into the story from Raw last week where Belair's husband, Montez Ford, was poisoned and Belair accused Vega of being behind it.
