Before we get into the preview for tonight...

B TEAM

B TEAM

NO

NO

NO

If you haven't heard... names of the recently "future endeavored" by WWE continue to slowly trickle out... and the most recent addition to that list... the Progeny of Perfection, Joe Hennig, aka Curtis Axel or Michael McGillicutty

Who knows what the future holds for the 40 year old former Intercontinental & Tag Team Champion, but you can say he was just never able to reach the heights of his grandfather and father... who knows... maybe a change of scenery would do him well... or maybe just go into retirement

Friday Night Smackdown is pre-taped tonight from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Fla.

I do believe that the final spots in the "whoever gets to the elevator to the roof first, wins" match will be determined tonight (also... chances of a Boogeyman cameo during the men's MitB ladder match are at best even odds)

on the men's side... Heavy Machinery's Otis Dozovic takes on the guy who was trying to steal his girl, Dolph Ziggler

and on the women's side... the aforementioned girl, Mandy Rose, battles Carmella

2 men already in the MitB corporate ladder match face off against each other as Daniel Bryan tries to avenge his pal in a match against Baron Corbin

(off topic Raw note... to keep kayfabe alive... Apollo Crews has been removed from the MitB Ladder Match due to the "injury" he picked up on Raw Monday night... don't know if it's been made official yet but it appears the replacement will be Jinder Mahal... who is now all but certain to win the briefcase )

The 8-time tag team champions, the NEEEEWWWWWWWW DAAAAAAAYYYYYY, love the tag belts so much that they will NOT be putting them on the line when they face off against the Forgotten Sons tonight

How long before Vince forgets about Wesley Blake & Steve Cutler and just pairs up Jaxson Ryker (aka Gunner from Impact) with Lacey Evans and makes them an arse-kicking combo of U.S. Marines (both legit served time in the USMC... Ryker even fought in the Iraq War) who are somewhere in that weird place of faces who are allowed to do heelish shite like Jon Moxley or Stone Cold Steve Austin?

oh look... Carmella's ready for the beaches to open up

I'm not on the "Jinder Being The Champion Was The Worst Thing In The World" bandwagon. I'm thinking a big reason the IWC thinks it was bad is because there was a "racist" element to one storyline. Storylines involving race don't necessarily make me complain about a rasslin storyline, however.

Watch this YouTube link to see my reasons why I hated the Jinder reign

basically WWE did NOTHING to rehab his image as a LONG-TIME jobber before just dropping the belt in his lap... for no reason other than 'we want India to become a bunch of WWE viewers' (which also failed)

a title reign that also included Shinsuke Nakamura's 1st main roster loss

ETA: plus his matches were all the same... including the Bollywood Boys interfering which resulted in the distraction that allowed Jinder to win

There's talk that Florida could allow fans at wrestling starting next week. It would be 25% capacity but that's better than nothing. Perfect timing for AEW going live. Maybe WWE will let fans in the performance center too.

I got a better idea... everyone to Full Sail University

ETA: NXT's last few shows have all been at Full Sail... so it's already ready for them

Thirty seconds in and the guy is already douchily pouring a glass of alcohol. I'm good, thanks.

I can understand your point. They probably should have either built him up beforehand or at least tried to make him a little more formidable after he won it. I still don't see it as an absolute disaster. Just one of several things that I think I could have done better if I was in charge but who knows?

I got an even better idea. Make me US dictator and there will be 80,000 in the Superdome this Monday night.

ETA: I mean, maybe ... at least more than the Full Sail capacity.

I didn't know WWE was using Full Sail again. I think the Performace Center looks better on tv plus they own it and can control it.

I'll tap out the points in uber-quick form

as pointed out... Jinder had only ever been a jobber in WWE (lost 94% of his matches) when suddenly right out of the blue he's winning the WWE Championship

his skill set was... ummm... lacking and thus he could only wrestle really 1 style of match that included the Singhs having to help him get the win

the gimmick he was given for the run was old, tired, & boring... and if you're trying to make fans out of a brand new middle class in a brand new market... why are you having their potential hero be a big-headed, elitest heel instead of a good work ethic babyface?

why are you sacrificing a burgeoning star in your company (who is already a star internationally) to him?? (yes I mean Nakamura)

Meh. Ric Flair didn't exactly have several match styles. I don't need everyone to be Finn Balor or Ricochet.

I do hate that Cesaro and Nakamura seem to be stuck in mid-card hell. They should do more with these two. Especially Cesaro.

I like Daniel but he's about to get totally out-classed and embarrassed here.

agreed... Cesaro & Nakamura are WAYYYYYYYYYYY too talented to be stuck in Intercontinental/US Title territory

but this was Nakamura FIRST MAIN ROSTER PINFALL LOSS... and I just don't really feel he's actually recovered losing to Jinder Mahal

If I owned dinosaur bones, I'd keep them at home or at some storage place and not at my office. That's just me.
