WWE Friday Night Smackdown Thread: Backlash Go Home Edition

A pretty huge piece of WWE news broke yesterday evening as the WWE announced that Paul Heyman has been pulled off as the head writer on Raw "to focus on being an on air character" and making Brother Love the head writer now of both Raw & Smackdown, effective immediately.
That's a pretty significant move in WWE's creative direction.
Now for tonight's preview as the final Smackdown before the Greatest Wrestling Match Ever comes to us from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Fla.
We will crown a new WWE Intercontinental Champion tonight as Daniel Bryan faces off against AJ Styles in what has the potential to be an instant classic in the finals of the Intercontinental Championship Tournament (why is this match not on Sunday???)
Jeff Hardy & Sheamus have a contract signing for their match on Sunday... a segment that is rumored to be quite unsettling and that's all I'll say about that

Tucker Knight is back with his buddy Otis Dozovic as Heavy Machinery teams with WWE Universal Champion Braun Strowman to take on Dolph Ziggler, John Morrison, & The Miz.

Will be interesting to see how Raw changes from here. On the hand, I think these empty building shows are a big reason for the ratings drop. Its not really fair to blame it on Heyman or the talent. I think Drew will be a good champ when things get back to normal.
On the other hand, I agree with Vince that guys like Ricochet, Cedric Alexander, and Humberto Carrillo were never gonna get over on Raw. The really to bring back managers and stables. I might care about Apollo Crews if he was still with Titus Worldwide. Zelina is doing wonders for her group of Mexicans. Maybe get Heyman to manage someone other than Brock.

There is a big difference between what Orton posted versus those three women bragging about paying money to bail out criminals and encouraging their followers to do so as well.

This will certainly ensure that Jeff re signs with WWE when his contract is up. I'm sure talent enjoy having their drug issues used as part of a story.
