I don't have a problem with the number of tests.
I have a problem with states that have huge backlogs on test results, but they still push the media to encourage every Tom and hairy dick to go get tested.

Son caught the Rona. Two days later wife and I tested negative. I thought that would be sufficient. Two weeks out of the office later, just tested negative AGAIN so I can go back to my office.

My daughter works for a state university and CV has swept through admin staff. Many are not getting tested and staying at home until 3 days no symptoms.

We need more tests. Tons of people are infected with no symptoms. We need to show a lot of people have the virus that don't require hospitalization.

IDK. Maybe having a fever, coughs , aches etc might drive some people to get tested... work requirements , spouse or relatives are positive , I am sure there are several more if you want to think about it

I can tell you that my job often has me traveling to other job sites to do my work. On one particular job, someone from another company got sick and tested positive. The general contractor on that job insisted that we couldn't go back to that job site until we had been tested negative.

Some do it because they will be put on quarantine from their jobs until they get results back. My company fricked up and told people that they will be quarantined for 14 days no matter the results of the test. Positive or negative, still quarantined. It hadn’t happened in my area but I know several other managers that have shitty employees and have to deal with outages. It’s young people coming into the workforce that have shitty work ethics.
