Doctors have been using plasma for months now. The problem is scarcity - the plasma donor has to already have COVID antibodies. Ironically, the latest wave of infections among younger people might actually result in lower death rates among older people if there are more plasma donors.

I thought plasma of recovered ppl was well-known as a treatment?

It's the main reason I volunteered for the baton rouge antibody study.

Shouldn't they be encouraging younger (under 45) healthy adults to get COVID in order to provide said plasma?
