He could always work at Kroger's and request the frozen food section.

Better pay, more hours AND he'll still get to work with ice cream on occasion.

I would panhandle and pull fifteen bucks per hour, and then get on every welfare program possible. I would likely sell drugs as well.

Having worked similar jobs in high school, baskin robbins all day. You will deal a lot less with a certain element of the population, people will be smiling when they get their ice cream, and you are more likely to meet/flirt with other high schoolers. I'd also consider who the "boss" will be. At grocery store, you will have several. Most of which will be bitter at life and take it out on you.
