The Jeep is an LGBT favorite for off roading even though they rarely go off pavement. It’s not optimal for long distance travel or comfort. Yet you bought it anyways.
Just like how people buy EV’s even though they are optimized for commuting. I bet most of those EV owners commute far more frequently than you take your Jeep off road.

So I guess $20 is too much money for you eh?
What are you talking about?

Yet it still can do those things. EVs can’t.

But they can’t take their EV off road. Unless they buy the $100,000 hummer or Tesla truck.

Still weaseling out of your bet eh? Shame.
Makes a bet, loses the bet, refuses to be a gentleman and donate $20 to a charity of his choice.

False. You can take long trips in EV’s. There is a strong and growing rapid charging network in the US. It’s not optimal, but it works. Sort of like your Jeep outside of Key West or San Francisco.

You made up the $20 after the fact.
I did admit that California has a terrible energy policy, which is a stance that I’ve held for years.

It's not optimal but it still has the ability to travel long distances. How many baws took their Jeeps from Louisiana to Green Bay for the LSU game? Vehicle in the OP would need to stop 9 times (8 times for a total of 30 minutes assuming a full charge.)

30 min per vehicle.... which is what this car, the thread is based of, claims...
Do Gas stations only have one pump? I think not.
So why would a charging station not have more than one, and you can charge all 3 at once.

So basically like an electric commuter car. It’s not optimal for 700 mile jaunts, but it can do it.

Yep. And you don’t have to donate $20 to a charity of your choice. But it certainly does say a lot about you as a person.
It’s just $20. You really can’t spare $20 to a charity? Any charity?

Do gas pumps take 30 minutes to fill a tank 40%

Can it? Are there charging stations readily available on major highways?

Yes. This is a couple of years old and excludes Tesla’s supercharger network.

No, but they take a lot less then 90 minutes beerjeep is stating.

Checking it out now and it is a complete joke. Did the previously mentioned trip from Baton Rouge to Lambeau Field and they are having you stop at auto dealerships or hotels for a charge. Hotels will allow you to charge if you're staying and auto dealerships won't have their charging stations available at night along with Whole Foods shutting off their chargers at night as well.

90 minutes divided by 3 is 30.
Math is hard.

So can modern EV's.....

You can definitely travel long distances but it will take a hell of a lot longer.
Posted on 2/16/21 at 12:41 pm to beerJeep
Again, why can you not have all 3 cars charge at once at different charge pumps? Does everyone at a gas station use the same gas pump?

Most families have 2 cars. This one is cheaper than the average car price in the US and can run 250+ miles per charge.
This is true. And what is getting lost in a lot of the EV discussions are that the investment into EV's are primarily centered on expensive models like the new Hummer or the Porsche thing.
This is one of the rare examples of an electric car that is affordable enough for daily commuting, which is what a lot of people in the major cities want.
I'd have concerns over what Chicago's winters would do to to the Bolt's range. If I have 30 miles of charge left and I park at a Metra station all day in sub zero temperatures, will I get home at night to a car that can actually go the few miles to my house? My colleagues with the Teslas claim that extremely cold weather depletes their charge because the car automatically keeps the batteries warm. But since they are charging them at night for hours, it's not really a problem.
