I found this list a bit interesting. There's some things here I wouldn't expect (at all) and some things in places I would not have guessed, either.

Number 2 comes to mind right off the bat...and I very much like the quality of vehicle they put out and this car in particular; but does it belong in this list?

For the record, I was researching the Infiniti Q50 and Q60.

I would put the Alfa #1. Pretty surprised to see the A5 there.

Except for the Kia Stinger, that is a good list. I think the Kia is more performance oriented like the Chevrolet SS sedan. Not really a luxury vehicle.

The Mercedes C class used to be a joke. It's a pretty good car now. The interior is amazing. The CLS, on the other hand, is disappointing. The GLA is pretty bad too.

BMW 3 series and Audi A4 are the big dogs in that segment. Almost all other manufacturers are benchmarking them. Alfa is a newcomer and I'm not sure it will be very successful in the US.

The Lexus and Cadillac are both good but need new designs. Both handle extremely well, and both have a pretty good performance variant. I think they will both be redesigned within a couple of years. IMO both Lexus and Cadillac make better "mid sized" and "large" sports sedans.

I have heard that the Jaguar XE is a little disappointing for new vehicle. Like Cadillac and Mercedes, Jaguar's core competency seems to be mid sized or larger vehicles.

I can't believe anything in that segment as bad as the Volvo S60. That's not only an old and cheap feeling design, but the technology is crap and the infotainment is the most unintuitive, slow, and convoluted system I've ever seen in a car. I'd get the new Buick Regal or Lincoln MKZ over that car in a heartbeat. Volvo is redesigning the S60 for 2019, so it should improve substantially.

The new Kia is actually pretty legit. Granted, the Genesis G70 that comes out in April will fit this category better.

Agreed. Was very surprised to see it there. If you're going to include this, why not opt to do the Genesis G70?

And yet, both Infiniti models, a Benz and an Audi are listed below it. I didn't get this, either.

Are the Q50 and Q60 really that low in the opinion of the OT? I thought I'd seen a few positive comments about those here previously and happened to be intrigued by a Q60s Red Sport AWD I passed on the road this morning. Looked and sounded nice, but maybe not so much?

IMHO, Acura really screwed up with that IX. Way too Honda Civic plus and nothing about it's exterior appearance that suggests luxury. They need to get back to that TL and TSX sport thing and get the younger male buyers back in the fold that solidified the brand in the US.

Kia on a luxury list automatically invalidates said list.

I would agree. When they first debuted that edgy TL back in the mid 2000's, it was pretty legit. Today, I honestly don't even think about Acura as a brand when considering luxury vehicles. Just an "also ran" these days.

Which was one of my initial points. Judging from the downvotes, some folks are having a hard time with reading comprehension.

I do like the car (minus the unnecessary chrome "gills" on the sides), but this isn't the place for it. Only thing I can figure is they wanted to have some variant of the G70 included in the list and didn't want to put it in prior to actual release.

I really don't consider Buick a luxury brand either.

And the BMW i3. Is it really that good? Some of you seem to like it.
