I don't know too many Lake Charles people laying claim to Harvey and it affected SWLA more than Rita affected Baton Rouge
It's weird to me that so many people want to be victims

Ida. At work and had front row seats to see it blow in.
Driving home and seeing people just out on the streets like it was mogadishu.
Hearing a nurse that I worked with on the phone with her husband while some frickin crackhead thug was trying to kick in their houses door with their kids screaming in the background (you can be they moved out of nola after that shite)
I was still a kid when Katrina tore shite up and my dad took care of everything.
For Ida, I was the dad and had to take care of everything. Got the family a place to stay. Took care of all the trees and shite that went down on my property. Helped my neighbors out and kept an eye on their shite while we were waiting for the power to come back. We were one of the last ones to get it back. Sweated my balls off every day and wondered how the frick people lived here before electricity.
Tigerdroppings was indespensible for me during Ida, guess a lot of posters on the northshore. My neighborhood was wrecked but my house was untouched so I got off lighter than most.
But it still was when I started my plans to leave LA for good.

Laura
Rita
Fredrick
And the one after Laura.
Remember one in HS that hit somewhere around Lake Charles back in the 70's. Wasn't very strong but thought sure football practice would be cancelled with 100% chance of rain. We still practiced in 30mph winds, lol.

Lily was pretty crazy in my hood. Lots of trees in the area. Heard snapping sounds all day.

For me personally it is:
1. Laura
2. Rita
3. Delta
4. Humberto
Barry in 2019 caused 24 inches of rain in Ragley. I was living in CA at the time but my family lives in Ragley and my brother's house got some water in it.
I remember my dad tracking Andrew in 1992 when I was 12 and being nervous about it. That's when you had the old paper tracker you updated once per day with Rob Robin on the 6PM news.

Rita went up the Sabine pass 2.5 hours away from St Amant. You probably had enough wind there to fly a kite
Rita gave us some hefty gusts in St. Amant that we’re enough to knock power out for a few days.

So more or less like a strong thunderstorm

Ivan was the most powerful, but Sally caused the most financial damage.

It's tie between Katrina and Ida.. I was in New Orleans for Katrina. I was safe in a big arse fortress of a building. In the middle of the building and could hear the wind howling through the air vents. Not knowing how my house made out.. Turns out I lost everything.
It seemed like Katrina didn't last long. I was able to call my neighbor (who stayed) at 9:30 and at 10:00 is when the levee broke. He had to swim for it.. I ran into him in the warehouse district some time later.
In my house (Metairie) for Ida by myself.. I thought that storm would never end.. After 15+ hours of high winds, rain and no power I was on the edge. Glad I was alone because I am sure I wouldn't have been good company...

Rode out Several others from Ivan to Ida and nothing was like Katrina
Just a horrible experience

Ida obviously. Huge tree went tjrough the house and almost hit me. Longest night of my life. Thought at first I lost one of my
Pups but we found her next day. I was trapped. Could not leave and nobody was able to get to me till after 10 the next day.
