New CDOT laws that started this season, and yes they're already enforcing them pretty stringently.

Know them. LINK

I'm really just looking for a position I can support myself financially from the start so it seems most certainly will be entry level. Like I said before, if the position includes housing then that's ideal. Making a bit of money would be nice, but I'm looking more for a change of scenery where I can get out and explore a new surrounding.

As long as you are up on your maintenance and have good tires, you should be o.k. It isn't like you have a carburetor...the fuel injection system should adjust to the altitude easily. I would make sure that the antifreeze is ok. Regular PM on the rest of it should do...it is a Toyota, so you should be o.k. (you might consider getting a block heater. It should cost you about 50 bucks and might take an couple of hours to install (you will need to drain the radiator...but you should probably do that to flush and replace antifreeze, anyway).

Might end up enlisting at some point but for now I need to get out on my own and do something.

My good buddy out there works roughly 4 months of the year and supports himself all year off of the income. It's doable if you don't mind dirt bagging the other 8 months of the year

I have a bunch of friends who do it. I worked in Yellowstone last summer and had a blast, had a job lined up for Telluride but decided not to do it.

I have worked at Big Sky Ski Resort in Montana for five years. It is near Yellowstone National Park. It is owned (last I heard) by Boyne Mountain. Look into that.

I ski Wolf Creek Ski Area in Southern CO. My Dad has a place in nearby South Fork.

It's the most snow in CO, and is sort of a "hidden" resort - even though most CO residents know about it. I never worked here, but I talk to a lot of the people who do. They seem to enjoy it.

Here is their employment page if you want it:

PS: I just drove my 2007 Civic with 300k miles on it up there this summer. You'll be fine if you take decent care of your vehicle. The only problem I had was my 5 inch crack in the windshield grew to about 20 inches due to the altitude!

Ask on EpicSki You'll get more info than you'll know what to do with. There are a lot of instructors on there, too, who can help you understand what it takes to move up as an instructor and what to expect.
