i'm unclear what you are saying here. are you posting a justification of the Russians raping their way across Europe? or on the Western media's lack of reporting on it?

an immense portion of their losses was due to their own incompetence as well as their tactics and they absolutely deserved and still deserve to get shite on for their behavior as they pushed to Berlin. in my opinion, anyways.
Western media and academia jump at every single chance to vilify and demonize every single aspect of Fascist ideology (for good reason) but still continue to treat Soviet Russia and communist history with kid gloves.
the majority of the hardship that they have been through for the last hundred years is a direct result of communist ideology and relatively few people in the Western world have any grasp on that.
also...not sure national TV was a huge thing in the 40s

A lot of Russian troops' losses were due directly to Stalin's war policies. Just the smallest infraction & 1000's were sent to punishment divisions in the front lines where they became cannon fodder. KGB Commissars stood behind the lines & shot any soldier who retreated. And as Russia approached the outskirts of Berlin, hundreds of thousands of Mongolian soldiers were kept in the front of the advance, again becoming cannon fodder. And Mongolians were "technically" Russians, but were basically a completely different "race".

not to mention the staggering amount of lives lost due to simple bureaucratic ineptitude, especially early on in the war.

I think you may mean Einzatsgruppen, the vast majority were Waffen SS and just like any other Wehrmacht unit.

You are right they would’ve been riding the radio waves and papers.
I do agree they have caused a lot of their own pain.
We all know Nazis raped people too. My question is because of idelology I wouldn’t think any Nazi high ranking member would want to race mix.
So many things to think about during this time period.

Have we ever discussed how Hitler, although he disagreed with practice, allowed Ernst Rohm to galavant for a while before he hands him a firearm to kill himself. Which was a pretty honorable thing to do in this time period honestly.
Again, this shows to me at least, he was a savage snake arse mf. He was very very smart about how he handled people. He came across as super aggressive on the surface but behind doors he very elegantly manipulated some pretty smart people.
Stupid people are stupid you can convince them of anything.
