Women's Sixth Sense and Relationships

Just started a fresh relationship a few months ago.
Not very public, just enjoying each other without the bullshite judgements of others.
Still, ex's of days past are jumping down my bones like I'm going out of style tomorrow.
It's some form of Pandora's Box type shite. If I open it, I'll regret it. Which I've learned from.
I normally stay cordial with ex's..happy birthdays, check in every few months, but nothing out of my way.
What gives? Seems every relationship I get in this happens..are females innate with some ability that I'm unaware?

I don't see these past partners on the regular.
Not avoiding them, by any means, but it's as if they know something is off and hit me up.
Case in point this AM, wake up, grab my phone to go poo, and I've got 3 texts from an ex from 4 years ago, that I may talk to once a year asking for something strange.

It’s not just women, men do it too.
Start getting truly relaxed and happy with someone and see if the best sex you ever had doesn’t show up after three years to tempt you.
It’s just like some weird rule that happiness has to be tested. Maybe it’s the universe balancing itself.

I thought about if I do it as well.
Why I always figured that a happy birthday text would get lost in the scrum and not seem like I'm shooting for a bonus night.
