To an extent it has, but it has also done more for the renegades of comedy than any other pervasive social issue.
Stanhope, O'Neal (RIP), C.K., Burr, and Jefferies don't give a frick about any of that horseshite. All of them effectively push the envelope with their language and subject matter.
It's comparable to what the PMRC did for "controversial" music during the '80s. It only adds fuel to the fire, in my opinion.
