It was mostly sarcasm, but since you bring up
I guess I have met my fair share of Billy Bobs with badges to know who has minimum training, pay and capabilities and know when to expect them to act as
My experience is that they tend to whatever is easiest, like most other professions. I certainly dont expect them to act as anything else than what they are trained to do. Its as you said, most arent trained to handle this, so they simply end up defending themselves as a matter of policy.

Wait until it gets dark. Have the electric company cut her lights off. Break the door down and send in a motorized robot, maybe a drone or two. Scare her like there is no tomorrow. She'll come running out of that house.
