Cops have tasers and other non lethal weapons on them. If two cops can’t take him down without using guns, they shouldn’t be cops.

It isn't the cops job to keep people alive. That's the people on the ambulances job. When you commit crime and look like you have a gun then fight the police the only way they can arrest you is with lead
