NORD (Nola rec camps), is currently listing June 15th as their camp start date. Weird they wouldn’t answer his question but their looking to green light their own.

Multiple camps that I know of contacted the Mayor trying to get specificity. None was offered. The ones opening are really making a lot up as they go mostly using small groups with no handing off between counselors. From pickup to dropoff you stay with the same small group all day. Will be enhanced daycare and quite boring for the kids.

Thanks for the info. Glad to hear that groups are finding ways to make it happen, but yeah it definitely sounds more like a child care necessity for working parents rather than a fun experience for the campers.

It puts a lot more work on each counselor as well as less taking breaks and handing off your group. And a lot of time that went to larger group activities and things like swimming and water day will have to be filled.
