The same way your standard deductible works, except the hurricane deductible is usually higher and based on a percentage of the amount of building coverage. Generally between 1-5%.
If you have a 2% hurricane deductible and $200K building coverage, your deductible would be $4000
If you have a 2% hurricane deductible and $200K building coverage, your deductible would be $4000

I just adjusted mine 3 weeks ago from 5% to 2% told 60 day waiting period. State Farm

Wow. I knew State Farm forced everyone to 5% a long time ago and heard in the last few years you could go back to 2% but never knew they stuck a waiting period on it
