Why would anyone build a new house?
IF you ever had plans drawn up and built a custom-built home, you would not ask this question. I've had 3 houses in my life and custom-built every one of them. I've already purchased the lot for my 4th one which I expect to build in 2 years.
Of course, you may have a few hiccups during the build. It's called life. Its a custom designed home from a blank sheet of paper and custom-built to my specs. It's the only one like it in the entire world.
I couldn't imagine not doing a custom build.

or there is a terrible price misunderstanding
Well, when some folks start picking out finishes and appliances, they don't have the discipline to stick to their fricking budget.
They likely do the exact same thing when buying a new vehicle. Is it advisable for individuals to refrain from purchasing brand-new cars??
I actually think you may be correct.
Some dumb fricking people should not try to build a new home or purchase a new vehicle. These people blow the budget and point the finger to everyone but themselves.

Your use of the word ‘always’ isn’t overdramatic and exaggerated at all.
We built a few years ago and it was a fun process. I would do it again.
