Why is trashiness glorified in today’s culture?

It seems like people value being trashy and strive for that rather than trying to advance themselves to a better life. Why is this so?

Is it just inherently more fun to be trashy? What makes someone think that that’s the lifestyle for them? Is it just easier, thereby allowing one to be lazy??

It seems like people would be interested in making the world a better place, not dragging it down. People just disappoint me sometimes.

Because glorifying trashiness is a great way to get trash to buy your product.
