what on earth are you talking about? Do you what VSN Louisiana is?
You're creepy because you life revolves around your 11 year old sons soccer medals and infatuated with the fact that hes a kicker on a 6th grade football team....it's sad

I do not know what VSN is.
My son quit tournament soccer, just plays in regional leagues now.
He’s the QB/RB/S/K for his 7th grade team, and he scored all 27 points in a shutout last Thursday. They play the #1 team in the conference this week, and he’s already nervous. Should be interesting to see if he can run all over the best team. Prolly not.
He was 1/3 kicking in the 1st game. Carnage.

What many of y'all don't seem to understand is the lack of parental involvement in the rec leagues.
I was as anti travel ball as anyone and have done everything I can to improve the local little league. This past season I averaged 8 hours a week at the ball park from March until all stars was over in June. It gets exhausting putting in so much time and effort and dealing with parents and other coaches who don't care.
This year in coach pitch we had 4 teams, total of 46 kids total. Two of the teams in the league who for over 50% of the games had less than 7 kids showing up and some of the time the coaches were not even there.
Parents were getting pissed because the coaches on those teams were so unorganized and didn't know anything about the game. But they were the only ones willing to step up.
So what ended up happening is that my team and the other good team destroyed those teams even when implementing the 5 runs max per inning rule. It got to the point that for the end of the year tournament (huge change from Dixie youth) the other two teams refused to play.
My younger boy, who I regrettably left down in tball, got zero coaching. It was a waste of a season. Sure they won every game but he didn't really get a ton better other than from me working with him.
This year my soon to be 7 year old is moving to play 8u travel ball, oldest made a travel ball team but they only take top 10 players to the tournaments so he will practice with them and okay rec ball until he gets better.
I say all of the above to show it's not about thinking your kid is going to play college, atleast not the ones I know of playing travel ball. It's about allowing your kid to play with his friends, to get better coaching and be around other kids who actually care. It gets old as a parent putting time into kids and the parents not caring enough to show up. hell I had a kid practice for all stars until 2 days before the tournament and his mom got invited to some social event in Nola and she pulled him from the team. He was our 3rd best player.
So before critizing parents for putting their kids in travel ball, think about the lack of involvement from the father's of the other kids. And it has gotten worse with the abundance of single mothers, no dad's to be found.
As far as Dixie youth vs LL, the state is changing. Most local leagues are leaving Dixie for LL due to shitty management by Dixie. LL can be a pain in the arse and there are politics to deal with, but Dixie is dying.
