Never understood this, I had heard a while back about it having something to do with surveyors mistake. still doesn't make a lick of sense. Why cant we just fix this shite, there are places all over the the US with similar mistakes. There will be an adjustment period obviously, but it would make things better in the long run IMO.

In setting parish boundaries and giving consideration to geography, it was attempted to have the Parish Seats be no more that a days buggy ride from any point in the parish.

Sometimes that didn’t appear to work out, however.
