$5 mediums on Friday.

what is that, 16 or 20 oz? $5 is still insanely uppriced. i bet their cost on it is less than 50 cents.

not sure which american cities have them. i first shopped there in germany and the uk. only american city i've seen them in is chicago, but they've got quite a few here.

the american ones are owned by the company that owns trader joes. but i think the european ones are still owned by the aldi's original family owners, one of whom died last week.

their really bare bones grocery stores. a lot of their stuff is shite. but their produce is pretty good, basically the same as trader joes but about 30 or 40% cheaper.

you think? I buy a bulk of bananas, let them get over ripe. then peel and wrap each one in saran wrap. then freeze. for the strawberries i just chop the stems off. blueberries i add straight in.

i'd guess it takes me less than 2 minutes to make a smoothie at home.

my house, dude

need me to whip your arse into shape, son?

runningtiger: Thanks for the info. I'm going to start freezing fresh produce from now on instead of getting the bags of frozen ones from Sam's. It's just so easyyyyyyyyy

The work is in the clean up of smoothies, not the making...

buying berries fresh at this time of the year and freezing yourself is a lot cheaper than buying the frozen fruit mixes. i saw sam's had 2 lbs of fresh blueberries a few weeks ago for $3.50. can't beat that. significantly cheaper than their frozen berries.

It is when you can make the exact same thing at home for less than a buck. No different than Starbucks. But hey, there's a sucker born every minute

Produce stand on 16 is cheap as hell. Go there for fresh.

Thought for sure you were getting swolt in the gym.

I'm just thinking of having to get all the ingredients and have them ready. I just know I'll either be out of bananas or the strawberries will be old or the blueberries will be way expensive

I have a smaller setup in one of the extra bedrooms. I feel like with what I have, I can get it done without paying for a membership. Over time, I'll keep adding to where there's not much I can't do at home vs a gym.

I'll check out that place off 16.

I love SK's Activators and Slim-n-Trims, though.

Same. They are also cheaper than Planet Smoothie, and tier app pretty much allows you to get a free one every 10 purchases or so.

Fresh berries are cheaper than the frozen right now. Publix here in Bham had raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, and strawberries all under $3/lb.

I really like SK's Gladiator. Strawberry protein powder and raspberries and strawberries for fruit. I make a similar one at home using ice, water, Muscle Milk in strawberry, banana, blueberries, and strawberries.

Look at the sugar content. Grape expectations used to be a killer
