Its not like there arent the Tom Benson stories, or William Randolph Hearst, or Bill Gates plans for his money, Jeff Bezos, Sumner Redstone, the Winchester heir, Howard Hughes, Pritzer family, or Getty who refused to pay kidnappers (that began sending body parts of his grandson to him). The list goes on and on. I've had the opportunity to be close to 4 extremely wealthy families. So I've witnessed it personally

The actual rich are fine.

Its the wanna be rich (upper middle pretentious) that needs to signal pseudo wealth.

Very true but actually "we" (the general public) are partially to blame because "we" ooh and ahh over the rich and famous every time they do something.

Ol Jeff could have fed a LOT of people with what was spent on that wedding, on his $500 mil yacht.
