I don't think it's necesarly selfish for a couple to decide to not have kids. But, in the traditional sense a married relationships reason is to bring kids into the world.
but, with today's fricked up society a couple who is happy and doesn't bring a child into the world is better than a person/couple who brings a child into the world and can't support/properly care for it.

Raising the next generation appropriately and successfully is honorable. You'll have money and possessions one day but all that fades away.

The original Christians thought the 2nd coming, and the Armageddon to follow, would occur in their lifetimes. There are NO new sins.
