Why is Christmas a paid federal holiday if church and state are separated?

Why no national outrage about federal employees being paid for a religious holiday? (or outrage about federal/government services not operating on Dec 25).
Discuss.
2017 Federal Holidays
Monday, January 2 New Year’s Day
Monday, January 16 Birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr.
Monday, February 20 Washington’s Birthday
Monday, May 29 Memorial Day
Tuesday, July 4 Independence Day
Monday, September 4 Labor Day
Monday, October 9 Columbus Day
Friday, November 10 Veterans Day
Thursday, November 23 Thanksgiving Day
Monday, December 25 Christmas Day

Government workers are lazy?
Posted on 8/24/17 at 3:05 pm to The Mick
People don't care why they get paid to take off.

Because it's so wide-spread that people are going to say "frick work" anyway.
I mean, government workers do that daily, but they at least have to shop sometime.

It's called Holiday vacation now.

I work all of those except new years day, thanksgiving day, and Christmas day. I get floating holidays to make up for it though. Gotta make sure you drunks get your booze

Why don't you mind your own damn business?

It's not observed as a religious holiday. A shitload of non-christians celebrate the holiday of Christmas without doing anything religious.

Nobody's coming in to work, anyway, so just making it easier than firing 100 million people for not showing up for work.

Christmas has become as much of not more so a secular holiday than a religious one in America

Separation of church and state is a metaphor that is not in the constitution. Its fake news baw

It says "Christmas Day" officially on the government website. Who says it's not observed as religious? (not arguing with you, just asking)

All of the non-christians that do shite for Christmas say that.

There's nothing Christian about our Christmas traditions.

quote:For sure, but the government officially recognizes the Dec 25 holiday as Christmas Day. The same people that don't want their kids praying in school or a cross on a building will happily accept holiday pay for Christmas day.

I'm not very religious, I'm just pointing out the hypocrisy.
