Why is anger and silence our retort to the harder questions in life?

Are we scared to face what's really going on inside of ourselves? Is there deeper issues that lead to discontentment than visual things? Is there a reason my last thread was anchored?

Because it's safer than being truthful with ourselves.
The truth is we're all broken, sick, fricked up, etc... The truth is also that the act of admitting those things is painfully uncomfortable, so we avoid acknowledging them - as if pretending our issues don't exist will simply make them disappear.

Because people have no self awareness and are too big of pussies to take criticism.

I like this. In general, when we complain it helps us take our eyes off of ourselves and placing them on someone or something else. Sorta like the saying, "passing the buck". Is not easy dealing with the pain of the demons that haunt all of us, so we need an out a scapegoat.

That's exactly why this website has made Chicken wealthy, and why places like 4Chan exist. You nailed it. Not sure if scapegoat is the right word, but what you said is spot on.

In people's defense, self-awareness isn't some easy thing, it can be painful and invasive. It's getting past the layers of superficiality and digging deep into root causes, has nothing to do with being a pussy.

Anger, remorse
Silence, doubt
Silence, doubt

I used to lash out in anger or sulk in silence when faced with tough questions.
Now I simply downvote.
