Suicide forum

Suicide survivors forum

I didn't say it should be discussed in private. I see your points but, there are better places to discuss the matter than here. I stand by what I said.

OP is a notorious troll. He wants attention. That's his only motivation. Ever.

I can definitely admit when I'm on the wrong side of a subject. Which may be the case here. My contribution was genuine while attempting to present a different take on this very serious subject.

I'm damn sure not intending to be an a-hole about this situation to anyone accept for you. Your intentions are fake. Take it to heart.

(or maybe not for some)

"chemical imbalances" - never understood that and sounded like a lame excuse for an explanation... until I encountered someone with a chemical imbalance and learned.

...many kinds of chemical imbalances but with some, especially abused as children, we now know from MRI's that common types of child abuse will stunt brain growth in certain areas and prevent lobes of the brain from developing properly.

One example in abused children who are now adults, is the amygdala and hippocampal regions do not develop in correct proportion. There are adrenalines, like one that is sometimes called the "fight or flight" adrenaline, that if its flow is not properly regulated by a properly developed brain, a problem that should be easily manageable, even an everyday problem, will cause an individual (because of the unregulated adrenaline) to feel the SAME type of terror, uncontrollable fear, horror, and desperation a normal person would feel if they were being violently attacked and murdered. This is real...well studied, and proven with MRI, and actually not that uncommon... so when you put yourself in the shoes, or mindsets, that some people actually have no choice but to live in, day to day, it becomes easier to understand such rash decisions and actions... and then begin wonder how it doesn't happen even more often...

Troll OP or not, please let me try to simplify because many do not understand this fully, I know I didn't:

not easy, but try to imagine the intense horror of waking up in the middle of the night to discover someone is slashing your throat... then, instead of quickly dying, you stay in that split second of terror for a few days... Intense fear while being murdered is caused by certain adrenalines, some people can have those same, unregulated chemicals flowing in their brain for days at a time.... ...easier to understand how a quick death (or suicide) can look much better?

I'm humored by OT ballers. They at least have a perspective that is genuine and understood. You on the other hand come across as obtuse and just plain insecure.

Does anyone here have insight into suicide? It just seems so illogical.

It seems very logical. A chemical imbalance in the brain and decreased GABA receptors (the brakes on decision-making) leads people to off themselves.

It's a desperate solution to an all encompassing terrible scenario for them. I have known several people who have committed suicide and handfuls of others I have met through other people. Each may have had a different but compelling reason to do it. All were suffering mentally and not physically.
