Haven't you heard? It's chic to be a victim these days. Everyone is now measured by their victim status. People are even lying about stuff to claim victim status. It gives street cred and protects the person from rebuttal.

For the most part I agree. when it can get uncomfortable is when suddenly they ask for a solution and I've spent 30 minutes thinking about how fast Mickey Mantle could run to first base instead of listening.

Because they view their lives as crap and this is the only way they can feel good about themselves....complaining and putting others down. It is a self-fulfilling prophecy...they just end up feeling even worse about themselves.
