re: Why do many people consider BJJ to be best for self defense?

Because it allows you to defend yourself on the ground if someone is on top of you and many of the moves rely on technique and leverage over strength. And from experience, if someone is a at a decent blue belt level and you don't know what you're doing, you are toast.

Blue belts can do work on someone unskilled.

You do boxing? I do think for a regular kid in HS or college getting picked on and someone starts a fight with him, let’s say he has a year or 2 of training boxing he wins easily. As far as a female I don’t feel the same way, but feel BJJ or judo may actually help them

Jiu jitsu is useful not because of the arm bars and triangle chokes, but for the knowledge of body position. It teaches you how to react and escape when a guy who is bigger and stronger than you has you pinned down. It teaches you how to defend when you are on the bottom and get yourself into a position to either take the offensive or run.
The other benefit is that you get to practice it at full speed.

I definitely don’t know anything about Krav Maga
Here is what you need to know. It is hard to punch a moving person in the face. Even professional boxers land less than 50% of the shots they take. Now Krav Maga relies on precise strikes to areas smaller than a face. If it hard to punch someone in the face, it is harder to poke them in the eye or punch them in the throat.
On top of that, you cant really practice Krav Maga at full speed or with full force. How are you supposed to get good at eye poking and throat punching when you cant do those things to your training partners time and time again?

Yep, I disagree to an extent. Hitting a trained boxer is hard, hitting an untrained bully is actually pretty easy if you train in boxing.

I didn’t know how Krav Maga worked, thought it was some kind of joke about Trump, but I guess it’s real. Yea you need to practice your art and that would be difficult
