YEA AND GET OFF MY LAWN!!!!
personally i like all the tech. I like the direct drive motors. All of you talking about how the old stuff used to last so long are full of shite. I remember so many times when i was younger having to pull out the washer or dryer and change the belt. I gave my LGs away after 12 years of perfect use with only issue was the dryer plug distribution block, melted after 10 years. Pulled the distribution block and rewired in 10 min and it was humming again in no time. Mother in law has a 18 year old dryer that is still working and washer just went out after 15 years.
The front load mildew issue was just fixed by GE and Im sure all the other manufacturers will follow.
As far as not cleaning the clothes, the new top loads dont have agitator and are essentially the same thing as a front load. Personally i find front load with steam is able to clean the best.
if you cant think of reasons to have wifi with an app....you dont do clothes very often. Got work clothes in the dryer overnight and want to make sure they are wrinkle free without having the wrinkle guard on all night....set the app to start 15 min before you get up. Need a shirt for dinner and you put in the dryer before work....start at work while leaving and its ready to go by the time you get home.
Plenty of uses. same with thermostat, same with alarms etc. These things are being developed to make our life easier.
Im just ready for the clothes folding machines to come down in price. frick folding clothes.

My washer shite the bed yesterday morning so I had to buy a new one. It was an LG top loader that was 11 years old. I hated that fricker from day one. Every year I would have to change out the tub shocks which was a pain or it would constantly stay out of balance. My intent was to get a speed queen, but nowhere in my area had them so I went to Lowe’s and told them I want a whirlpool with an agitator they had one model in stock that I could take that day. It had more bells and whistles than I wanted but couldn’t wait a couple of weeks for a no frills version to come in so I took what I could get. They tried to sell me on another Samsung and LG they had in stock and I told them politely that Samsung and LG are white products.

Wha'chu mean "white products"?
They prefer to be called "all color products"
