Why do Clothing stores take so long to checkout?

Go to Macy's, JCPenny's, Dillards and you will be third in line but it take 20 minutes to checkout. like damn hurry up Linda I got places to be [Rant Off]

They have to take all the security tags off.

Because they have to take off security tags, remove the hangers and fold the garments before bagging.
Plus they are supposed to check that the sizes listed on the hangers match the clothes so that you get the right size
